If no bubbles are appearing, try moving to a warmer location. you should see activity within a few days
Keep the lid ajar to let gas escape. Open and check for surface moulds; if these occur, it is safe to remove them with a clean spoon and continue the fermentation. If mould is on the vegetable itself, remove the top centimetre or so to make sure flavour has not been contaminated underneath
White surface yeast is normal. Kahm yeast is a white fluffy film on the top and can be skimmed off. Put ferment in the fridge to reduce the likelihood of it regrowing.
